A.O.S.M. in Dubai 2015

The Primary purpose of the Asia-Oceania Service Meeting (AOSM) is to carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous to the alcoholic who still suffers by providing a forum for the delegates to share the experience, strength and hope of the countries they represent and who come together from all parts of Asia and Oceania. The AOSM website is http://www.aosm-aa.org/.

Experience demonstrates that a sound service structure enables the message to be delivered more effectively. Accordingly MERCAA is on eof the 72 countries that for the AOSM. The AOSM encourages the development of sound structures suited to the needs of the individual countries and the growth of AA service to reach the alcoholic through all communication methodologies.

Previous meets have taken place as follows 1995 Tokyo(Japan), 1997 Auckland (NZ), 1999 Sydney (Aust), 2001 Seoul (Korea), 2003 Hong Kong, 2005 Golf Coast (Aust), 2007 Ranzan, Japan, 2009 Bangkok, Thailand, 2011 Chandigarh, India, 2013 Irkutsk, Russia. The next AOSM meeting will be hosted in Dubai 2015.

Extract from the minutes of the AOSM meeting held 19-21 July in Russia

“The next venue to hold the AOSM in October 2015 was chosen to be Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, and John from Australia was elected as its Chairman. The vote was conducted in accordance with the Third Legacy; there were three candidates, and the new Chairman was elected only by means of the hat.”
